again a good question...

** How many +ve integral solutions of (x,y) exist for following equations:
(a) x^2-y^2 = 864
(b) x^2-y^2 = 945
(c) x^2-y^2 = 1616.

the ans are 6,3,3...by factorization..into (x+y)(x-y)..n then factorizing 864 or 945 or 1616 knowing tht (x+y)>(x-y) for +Ve solutions..
